Role
As a QA/SDET Engineer, you’ll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional QA — you’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift-left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle. By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact.
Responsibilities
* Become the first QA/SDET in the team and define how we approach testing;
* Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high-quality standards across our product;
* Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing;
* Collaborate closely with engineers to co-own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance);
* Promote a “shift-left” QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage;
* Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
MUST HAVES
* 4+ years of experience as a Python engineer building production systems;
* Proven track record in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance/load testing);
* Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture;
* Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes;
* Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck;
* Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor;
* Full overlap with Central European Time or at least 6+ hours;
* Upper-Intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
* Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI);
* Frontend testing or front-end framework experience (Vue.js, React);
* Early-stage startup experience;
* Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems;
* Leadership experience;
