We are counting above 100 people worldwide and are looking for a Knitwear Merchandiser for our Portuguese office located in Guimarães.JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a merchandiser who will be responsible for interfacing with buyers and knitters from order analysis to shipment in a timely manner.
You will report to the Development Manager.Your main responsibilities will include:Yarn sourcing and ordering, enrichment of yarn type, trims, print, embroideries, washes, and stitches library collaborating with technicians and Development manager.Knitwear development by translating customer's requests/vision for technicians team/knitters/manufacturers.
Your goal is to lead highly qualitative sampling within a strict timeframe.Daily communication with buyers and designers for comments, approvals, new ideas sourcing while providing a high level of service.Prototypes, SMS, size set, PPS, lap dips, bulk production follow-up, as well as yarn mills according to the schedule (updated and shared T&A) till ex-factory date.Smooth communication with the production team, knitters, QCs, to assure the highest quality possible.Costing sheet preparation for each style developed, to share along with customer while sending protos, SMS...Visit partners (knitters, embroiderers, printers...) when required.Prepare and monitor shipments at development and production stages.IDEAL CANDIDATE :You have a minimum of 2 years of merchandising experience of knitwear.You have experience in product development, costing and execution orders.You are familiar with gauges, yarn count & composition, fully fashioned garment, sewing techniques, stitches, patterns...You can understand and translate complex technical files while guiding technicians for new developments.You are client-oriented and able to handle several customers at the same time, smoothly and reactively (dealing with pressure, daily communication, and strict deadlines).
Communication is deeply embedded in the DNA of the company.You have a good network in Portugal (factories or subcontractors sourcing).You speak Portuguese fluently and have a good level of English, basis in French can help.You are a problem-solver, you are flexible, and you have an eye for detail.WHAT WE OFFER :An exciting challenge in a growing company where evolution possibilities are real and where meritocracy is truly valued
