Overview
MDS Group is recruiting for a Treasury Manager to join the Finance Department at our Porto office. We are looking for an experienced Treasury Manager to oversee and optimise the Group’s treasury operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and financial risk management. This is a high-impact role for a proactive and strategic professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international setting.
Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and execution of banking transactions.
* Optimise cash centralisation across the Group to enhance liquidity and streamline processes.
* Administer and monitor intercompany loans, ensuring compliance, accurate accounting, and effective cash utilisation.
* Oversee debt management, ensuring obligations are properly recorded in the Treasury Management System (TMS), including interest, maturities, and related terms.
* Supervise bank account administration, user access, and system controls to ensure secure and efficient operations.
* Design and implement treasury policies, processes, and internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance.
* Monitor and optimise working capital across the Group, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
* Prepare and present treasury reports and liquidity insights to senior leadership.
* Support internal and external audits with timely and complete documentation.
* Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Business Units to align treasury strategies with broader objectives.
* Lead, mentor, and support junior treasury professionals within the team.
Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (professional certification such as CTP, CFA, or ACT is a plus).
* At least 5 years of experience in treasury functions, preferably in multinational or shared service environments.
* Proven expertise in liquidity management, banking operations, intercompany transactions, repatriation coordination, and FX/cash management.
* Proficiency with Treasury Management Systems (KYRIBA preferred).
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong understanding of treasury operations, including cash positioning and liquidity optimisation.
* Experience in leading cross-functional projects and working with international teams.
* Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese (mandatory).
* High attention to detail, process-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Self-starter with resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
* Capable of working independently while fostering collaboration across teams.
