In 2014, Marley Spoon launched as a meal kit delivery service featuring fresh, high quality ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes. Each box is personalized to a customer's unique taste, with the ability to customize recipes with upgrades, protein swaps, gluten-free options, and so much more.
Marley Spoon now operates across six countries
About Us
We're Marley Spoon — a food-tech company on a mission to help people cook better, eat smarter, and waste less. Since 2014, we've grown into a global meal kit platform that delivers flexible, personalized recipes to customers across six countries.
Behind every box is a network of intelligent systems, built by lean, cross-functional teams who care deeply about customer experience, sustainability, and quality. Our Data Tribe plays a key role in making that happen—one model, one insight, one experiment at a time.
We believe in:
* Building for impact, not just output
* Working closely across teams and disciplines
* Using data to solve real problems, not chase hype

About the Role
As a Data Scientist in our Data Tribe, you'll work at the intersection of machine learning and practical business impact. You'll collaborate with teams across Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations to build models and tools that power how we personalize, plan, and improve customer experiences.
This is a hands-on role with space to learn, experiment, and grow. You'll take on real ownership—across the lifecycle of your models and in how your work connects to customers and company goals.
You'll be part of a team that:
* Designs and ships production ML models
* Works iteratively and learns from feedback
* Balances curiosity with a clear sense of value
-----------------------------------
Key Areas of Impact
You'll contribute to projects that shape how we serve millions of customers and run our operations more efficiently. From personalization to forecasting to experimentation, your work will help the business make smarter, faster, more informed decisions.
Here's what you'll work on:
* Personalization & Recommendations: Build and improve models that tailor meal kits, recipe content, and communication to each customer's preferences and behaviors.
* Forecasting & Planning Models: Develop tools to better predict demand and optimize logistics—helping reduce food waste and improve delivery operations.
* Retention & Marketing Insights: Support churn prediction, CLV modeling, and campaign optimization—helping teams target the right message at the right time.
* AI Tools & Experimentation: Explore and apply newer technologies like LLMs or generative AI where they add value, and help design A/B tests that back decisions with data.
* Model Deployment & Collaboration: Own your models end-to-end—development, validation, deployment, and monitoring—while working closely with engineering and product peers to make it real.
-----------------------------------
About You
You're not just comfortable with code—you're curious about the why behind the work. You enjoy making models that serve a purpose, and you're energized by collaborating with others to make something better together. You're looking for a place where you can grow while contributing meaningfully from day one.
We think you'll thrive here if you have:
* 3+ years of experience in applied data science
* Solid knowledge of ML, stats, time series, and recommender systems
* Proficiency in Python and SQL; hands-on with scikit-learn, PyTorch, or XGBoost
* Familiarity with modern data platforms like Snowflake, Looker, Airflow, etc.
* A strong sense of ownership—you care about your work and its outcomes
* Comfortable working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams
* Clear communication skills—especially when explaining complex ideas simply
