Future Opportunity - Java Backend Engineer w/ AWS (m/f/d), Porto
We are anticipating the upcoming opening of a Java Backend Engineer w/ AWS within our local tech team in Portugal.
Working at the 7.1 Tech Hub is more than just a job. You will work with a closely-knit international Scrum team composed of highly experienced individuals across various agile product teams with expertise in media technologies, cloud tools, product management, software development, and IT operations.
We seek engineers with an "application-owner" mindset, eager to take end-to-end responsibility for their systems — "you build it, you own it, you run it".

What you can expect in this role
* Be part of an engineering culture emphasizing Clean Code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and continuous refactoring.
* Contribute to creating large, extendible software systems using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and Object-Oriented Enterprise Design Patterns for modular, readable code.
* Interact directly with end-users and work throughout the full product development lifecycle — from requirements gathering to testing and deployment — with a DevOps approach.
Your essential experience and education
* 4+ years of experience designing and developing large software applications.
* Must-have skills: Java, Spring Framework (or Quarkus), AWS development and architecture (or similar cloud solutions).
* Proven experience in building production-quality software in team settings and capable of solving complex problems autonomously.
* Experience with Agile methodologies.
* Experience managing the full product development lifecycle.
* Fluent in English; Portuguese and/or German proficiency is a plus.
