A glimpse in your role: /pp As a Senior Sales Leader – Retail at Global Blue by Shift4, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new retail business opportunities across Portugal.
You will directly contribute to the growth of Global Blue by Shift4#39;s presence in the European retail payments ecosystem by expanding client partnerships, driving sales performance, and positioning Global Blue by Shift4 as a trusted advisor delivering tailored, innovative payment solutions.
/pp You will oversee the full sales cycle (from lead generation to onboarding) and gradually build and manage a sales team aligned with business needs.
This position plays a crucial role in transforming the European retail payments landscape and strengthening long-term commercial relationships in the retail sector.
/pp Your responsibilities include: /pulli Identify, pursue, and close new retail business opportunities across the country.
/lili Take full ownership of the sales cycle: lead generation, pitching, contract negotiation, onboarding, and client delivery.
/lili Build and manage a team of field sales agents as the business grows.
/lili Consistently achieve and exceed personal and team sales targets.
/lili Deliver compelling presentations and tailored proposals to retail clients of all sizes, from SMBs to complex, multi-location enterprises.
/lili Maintain deep market knowledge of retail trends and payment innovations to strengthen Global Blue by Shift4#39;s positioning.
/lili Collaborate with global and regional teams (marketing, product, operations, finance) to ensure seamless processes and excellent service delivery.
/lili Accurately manage CRM pipeline reporting and adhere to internal sales processes.
/lili Represent Global Blue by Shift4 at industry events, trade shows, and on client site visits across your country/region of responsibility.
/lili Act as a trusted advisor to prospective retail clients, helping them identify optimal payment solutions and supporting long-term business growth.

You#39;ll drive towards success if you have: /pulli Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales leadership and business development within payments/fintech and retail technology industries.
/lili Proven track record of success in driving sales performance, managing complex deals, and nurturing client relationships across diverse merchant sizes.
/lili Bachelor#39;s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
/lili Extensive experience in leading sales in international, competitive environments; proven ability to deliver revenue growth, build teams, and position solutions strategically.
/lili Proven sales and negotiation skills with large and complex merchants.
/lili Strong presentation, influencing, and relationship management abilities.
/lili Deep understanding of European omni-channel retail and payments ecosystems (card present ecommerce).
/lili CRM proficiency and strong organizational skills.
/lili Languages: Fluent English.
Native or proficient knowledge of Portuguese.
Knowledge of additional European languages beyond the local language is considered a plus.
/lili Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Europe.
