Adecco Recruitment is recruiting a Junior Accountant for an International Client based in Porto.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to general ledger accounting (journal entries, month-end accruals, account reconciliations, account analysis, support schedules, etc.)
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and help with cash reporting, liaising with multiple departments.
- Download system reports and create usable accounting documentation as part of year-end processes.
- Maintain a wide variety of financial information, files, and records to ensure the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies.
- Respond to inquiries from a wide variety of sources (e.g., employees, vendors, auditors) to facilitate communication and provide guidance.
- Review and process travel expenses across numerous business functions.
- Support the Accounting team in the preparation and reconciliation of payroll reporting.
- Support accounts payable by resolving queries, completing AP confirmation letters, and reconciling the subledger monthly.
- Assist in reviewing financial information to identify issues.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and yearly audit documentation.
- Assist with intercompany postings, research, and communications.
- Support special projects as required and directed by the supervisor of the Finance Department.
Profile
- Degree in accounting area (a completed degree is not compulsory).
- 2 years of previous experience in the position (we also accept candidates without training in the area but with more than 5 years of experience in similar roles).
- English level C1 (test and interview in English).
- Proficiency in Excel and other Office tools.
- Organizational and planning skills, methodical, critical thinking, and ability to multi-task.
- Humility, willingness to learn, and a love of teamwork.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 software is an advantage.
