NoOffer Description Call for Research Grant AssignmentThe University of Coimbra opens a call for the assignment of a research grant, with one position(s), under the project TEC4GREEN project "TEC4GREEN" (7136 (C644948561-00000052).The call is governed by this Notice of Opening, the University of Coimbra Research Grant Regulations (RBI-UC), subsidiarily by the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology (RBI-FCT), by the Research Fellow Statute (EBI), by the Norms for Grant Assignment and Management within R&D Projects, by the Code of Administrative Procedure (CPA), all in their current wording, and by other applicable national and community legislation.Procedure Reference: IT137 - 26 - 77Legal admission requirementsI.I - Grant Recipients:Master degree in Chemical Engineering, or related areas, and enrolled in a non-academic degree course and with knowledge in: • installation, control and operation of semi-pilot scale equipment, namely extraction and/or separation, including at High Pressure and membrane separation; • experimental design and control/process optimization (on a semi-pilot scale), namely of extraction and/or separation processes; • physical and chemical characterization of natural products.I.II - The non-degree-granting course must be related to the type of activity covered by the grant. Non-degree-granting courses are defined as those referred to in subparagraph e) of paragraph 3 of Article 4 of Decree-Law No. 74/2006, in its current wording, provided that, under subparagraph e) of Article 3 of RBI-FCT, they are developed in association or cooperation between the higher education institution and one or more R&D units.I.III - Ineligible candidates:Candidates enrolled in non-degree-granting courses who have already benefited from a grant contract and who, with this grant assignment, including possible renewals, exceed a total accumulated period of two consecutive or non-consecutive years in this type of grant.I.IV - Eligible for grant assignment if meeting the requirements:a) Portuguese nationals or nationals of other EU Member Statesb) Nationals of third countriesc) Stateless personsd) Beneficiaries of political refugee statusGrant location CERES (DEQ/FCTUC + FFUC) at the University of Coimbra.Scientific supervision/coordination of the grant Jorge Fernando Brandão Pereira e Hermínio José Cipriano de Sousa.Work Plan / Goals to be achieved Work plan for the R&D activities to be carried out (Activities 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 of Agenda TEC4GREEN): carrying out R&D activities focused: • on the installation and test of equipment on a semi-pilot scale (eg: Solid‐Liquid extraction, High Pressure extraction, Liquid‐Liquid separation, membrane separation, etc. ); • on the optimization of processes (on a semi-pilot scale) for the extraction, separation and purification of natural products obtained from agro‐industrial raw materials (and their residues/losses); • on the physical/chemical characterization of obtained extracts/fractions; • on document management of R&D activities; • on writing technical‐scientific documents.Initial grant duration 3 months (as long as it does not exceed the project's end date).Renewal Possibility Non-renewable.Funding and financial conditions of the grantMonthly grant amount (paid by bank transfer at the end of each month): 1309,64€.In addition to the above amounts, voluntary social security (SSV) is included when the grant has a duration of six months or more, corresponding to the first level, if the candidate opts for it, as well as mandatory personal accident insurance.Funding: The grant(s) assigned under this call will be funded by PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan and by the Next Generation EU Funds, following NOTICE N.o 02/C05-i01/2022, Component 5 – Capitalization and Business Innovation – Mobilizing Agendas for Business Innovation.Information and publicity about the funding: In all R&D activities directly or indirectly financed by the grant, in particular, in all communications, publications and scientific creations, as well as theses, carried out with the support provided for in the grant, mention of financial support by the PRR must be expressed. In all scholarships, and in particular in the case of actions supported by community funding, monitoring and control actions may be carried out by national and community bodies in accordance with applicable legislation in this matter, with supported scholarship holders being obliged to collaborate and provide the requested information, which includes carrying out surveys and evaluation studies in this area, even if the scholarship has already ended.Selection Methods Evaluation of the academic record (AR) 100%.Academic record evaluation criteriaCriterion 1: Absolute merit of the curriculum vitae.Criterion 2: Academic background.Criterion 3: Specific knowledge related to the work plan.Evaluation scoring: AR = criterion 1 × 50% + criterion 2 × 10% + criterion 3 × 40% = X. It is carried out under an exclusive dedication regime, and the grantee is awarded the Research Grantee Status, as stipulated in the EBI and the RBI‐UC.Notification of candidates All notifications will be made through the electronic platform Apply UC, under the terms of subparagraph c) of paragraph 1 and subparagraph b) of paragraph 2 of Article 112 of the CPA and Article 22 of the RBI‐UC. The notifications will take effect after being made, as provided in Article 113 of the CPA.
