Senior Project Manager (MEP) – Data Centre Project

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong MEP background to support the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale data centre development in Portugal. This is a client-side role responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure across a major mission-critical project.
The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and in line with the required technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of MEP packages across a hyperscale data centre development.
* Manage project execution from construction through to commissioning and handover.
* Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers to ensure alignment on technical requirements and programme milestones.
* Monitor construction progress, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
* Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
* Ensure all works meet the required quality, safety, and operational standards associated with mission-critical environments.
* Support commercial oversight, including contract administration, variation management, and reporting.
* Facilitate regular project meetings and provide clear progress reporting to senior stakeholders.
* Ensure effective communication between international project teams and local partners.
Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
* Strong MEP / Building Services background with experience managing mechanical and electrical systems on complex projects.
* Previous experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, or highly technical facilities is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of construction project delivery from design through commissioning.
* Experience coordinating multiple contractors and consultants within a large project environment.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Fluent Portuguese is highly desirable due to coordination with local teams.
* Ability to work within an international project environment.
