Job Title: Contract Manager
A key role exists within our organization for a Contract Manager to join the Building Division of VINCI Construction Grands Projets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of contract management strategies for a 2-year assignment based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement contract management strategies for the project.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Manage contract amendments and variations, ensuring they are properly documented and agreed upon.
- Monitor contract performance and address any issues or disputes that arise.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on contractual matters.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents and communications.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on contract management processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on contract status and performance to senior management.
- Manage the riders and amendments requested by the Client or Consortium and optimize their timing and cost implications.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with all stakeholders regarding contractual matters. Oversee the resolution of contractual disputes and claims.
- Support the consortium in achieving project milestones and objectives.
- Liaise with the Legal Department of each Consortium member.
- Monitor, from a contractual standpoint, changes in scope, schedule, and costs.
- Take full responsibility for all contractual aspects of the project.
- Draft contractual correspondence.
- Draw up standard contracts for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring validation from relevant divisions and departments prior to signing.
- Set up and manage a system for subcontractor payment certification.
- Establish and maintain systems for the preparation and closure of subcontracting and supply contracts.
- Keep an up-to-date list of all subcontractors and suppliers within the Consortium.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- A Master's degree (Bac+5) in law, engineering, or construction management is required.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of contract law and international construction contract standards (FIDIC, NEC, etc.) is essential.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and cultures is required.
Languages:
- Fluent Portuguese (spoken, written, and read) — mandatory
- Professional proficiency in English — required
- French is an asset
