We are looking for a Head of Workshop Operations (m/f) to lead and control the entire operational, financial, and managerial performance of our bus and truck workshops.
This professional will be responsible for ensuring high fleet availability, reduced downtime, strong profitability, operational excellence, and compliance with OEM standards and customer SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all Workshop Managers as one unified operational structure
* Define annual and quarterly objectives for each workshop and each Workshop Manager
* Develop Workshop Managers through coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action plans
* Build a culture of accountability, transparency, discipline, and KPI-driven management
* Establish uniform operational and service standards across all workshops
* Manage workforce planning: headcount, productivity, absenteeism, and turnover
* Coordinate closely with Finance, HR, Parts, Logistics, and OEMs

Operational Responsibilities
* Full responsibility for bus and truck workshop operations, including:
* Preventive and corrective maintenance
* Breakdown and roadside assistance
* Warranty and OEM campaigns / recalls
* Ensure high fleet availability for customers and internal fleets
* Reduce vehicle downtime through structured planning and prioritization
* Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly workshop planning and capacity management
* Optimize job flow, bay utilization, and technician allocation
* Manage spare parts availability in coordination with procurement and warehouses
* Implement and enforce IT systems (DMS, OEM warranty portals, KPI dashboards)
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Authority & Decision-Making
* Set operational priorities across workshops
* Approve manpower adjustments within budget
* Decide on vehicle routing between workshops
* Suspend or correct non-compliant operations
* Recommend bonuses, incentives, or disciplinary actions for Workshop Managers

* Proven experience managing multiple heavy-duty workshops or after-sales operations
* Strong background in bus and truck maintenance and service
* Deep understanding of workshop operations, productivity, and financial drivers
