Our management team is located in the UK and we have technical teams based in Portugal and India.The RoleThe successful Senior C++ Engineer will join an amazing video client where you will be central to building and optimising high-performance media systems powering large-scale streaming platforms worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge video delivery technology, helping shape the future of streaming experiences used by millions of consumers globally.Responsibilities- Build and maintain high-performance C++ media systems for large-scale streaming environments. - Work directly with FFmpeg, x264 and video processing pipelines. - Optimise encoding performance, throughput and video quality across live and VOD workflows. - Debug and resolve complex media, timing and performance issues in production systems. - Improve reliability, scalability and efficiency across media delivery pipelines. - Work with modern streaming formats and protocols including HLS and DASH. - Collaborate closely with playback, infrastructure and platform engineering teams. - Contribute to CI/CD automation for C++ projects using tools such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline. - Support engineering best practices across development, testing and deployment activities.Requirements- Strong professional experience developing with modern C++. - Deep understanding of FFmpeg and media processing pipelines. - Strong experience working with x264 and video encoding concepts. - Experience debugging and optimising performance-critical systems. - Strong Linux and multithreaded programming experience. - Practical experience using CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline. - Solid understanding of codecs, containers and streaming protocols. - Experience working within large-scale production environments. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.Nice to Have- Experience with hardware encoding or GPU acceleration. - Familiarity with live streaming and low-latency workflows. - Experience with DRM systems. - Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
