We are looking for aSoftware technical designer:
We are seeking a Software technical designer with a good ecommerce knowledge (at least 5 years)
She/He will work as a member of Digital Backend engineering team, to design Backend interfaces and flows (APIs, Software process, flows) to adapt existing process or to create new features in our front-end applications (Web and Native Apps)
Functional scope covers a wide range of ecommerce backend topics:
product publication, accounts management, checkout, selfcare.
The team is composed of Software engineers and technical designers with a great seniority level.
People in the team are located in France, Malta and Portugal and we work with our Backoffice engineering team in Leiria Portugal.
Responsibilities:
- Clarify project scope, objectives and deliverables.
- Create and maintain project plan of digital backend impacts (in JIRA) with the estimated timelines and a highlight of the dependencies.
- Collaborate closely with other teams (feature teams, architects, Backoffice teams…) to design performant and scalable solutions.
- Document technical specifications and decisions in Confluence.
- Create and manage technical user stories for the developers in JIRA.
- Assist (frontend, backend) developers in case of questions during the build phase.
- Conduct partial technical testing to validate implementations.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation of the products.
- Analyze and help resolve support tickets assigned to the digital backend team.
- Facilitate agile rituals such as dailies, retrospectives.
Requirements:
- Computer science degree.
- Good ecommerce knowledge and skills with a proven track record (minimum of 5 years).
- Knowledge and practice of Backend APIs development constraints, design patterns (particularly within the Microservice Architecture).
- Very good skills in software technical design:
sequence diagram, flows modeling between frontend, back for front and Backoffice, API design…
- Experience in redacting technical specifications in Confluence and technical user stories for developers in JIRA, with good writing skills.
- Understanding of the technical constraints of a wide ecommerce omnichannel digital system (web performance, scalability, observability, dashboarding and alerting constraints, WebView management).
- Ability to communicate with the other teams (functional product owners, front developers, architects, OPS, support…) and to formalize meeting outputs.
- Ability to manage project priorities (and deadlines).
- Able to come to Leiria offices at least once a month.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
