ABOUT THE ROLE:
Your primary role will be to optimize and enhance the performance of complex cloud applications within the Altium 365 - Valispace R&D team. You'll tackle unique technical challenges related to systems engineering, focusing on areas like system optimization, deployment strategies, and performance monitoring for a mix of engineering software, microelectronics, and cloud services.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR SYSTEMS ENGINEER:
6. Be the Maestro of System Optimization: You'll define the technical direction for our infrastructure, ensuring system robustness, scalability, and adaptability to our product's evolving needs.
7. Dive Into System Enhancements: Engage in both solo and collaborative efforts to solve intricate system issues, from optimizing nginx configurations to refining database queries and ensuring seamless deployment strategies.
8. Champion Efficiency and Performance: With a sharp focus on system performance, you'll identify and implement solutions to streamline operations, enhance system responsiveness, and improve the overall user experience.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
9. Vision for the Big Picture: You understand that system changes can have broad implications, allowing you to make informed decisions that benefit the entire ecosystem.
10. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to define system requirements and specifications for web applications.
11. Design and architect systems considering scalability, performance, and security.
12. Create detailed system diagrams and documentation using design tools like Miro or Figma.
13. Analyze existing systems and recommend improvements or optimizations.
14. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
15. Coordinate testing efforts to validate system functionality and performance.
16. Provide technical support and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
17. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously enhance system designs.
Qualifications:
18. Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, specifically in complex cloud based application development.
19. Proficiency in system design and architecture principles such as microservices, event-driven architectures, caching, load balancing, etc..
20. Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs).
21. Experience using design tools such as Miro, Figma, or similar for creating system diagrams and workflows.
22. Fluency in English (verbal and written) to communicate complex ideas effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
23. Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
24. Understanding of database design and management.
25. Knowledge of security best practices in web application development.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our systems not only function but excel, setting us apart in the market with unparalleled performance and reliability.
Interview Process: During the interview, candidates will be asked to design a simple system, such as a URL shortener, using Miro or Figma. This exercise will help assess your ability to think critically about system architecture and user experience while collaborating effectively with design tools

The salary range for this role is {€53,000.00 - €65,000.) Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
