Operational & Technical Field Specialist – Portugal
Do you want to work hands-on with machinery and technology in one of Europe's most exciting specialized agricultural productions?
We are looking for a practical profile with a strong technical understanding to take responsibility for the daily operations of our legume production in Portugal.
GreenPeas A/S is a Danish company and Europe's leading producer of fresh peas and legumes.
We are expanding our activities in Portugal and need an employee who thrives being "in the field" and who can solve the practical and technical challenges that arise during a busy season.
Your Role in Greenpeas - Portugal
You will become a central part of our Portuguese setup, where your daily life takes place in close contact with both the soil and the machinery.
You will report to our Operation Manager and be responsible for ensuring that practical work is executed with the highest precision.
Your primary tasks will be:
Machinery Operation & Fieldwork: Operating agricultural machinery for sowing, crop care, and soil preparation of specialized crops.
Technical Maintenance: Ensuring the machinery fleet runs optimally.
You will perform troubleshooting and minor repairs yourself in the field.
Production Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of crop conditions and ensuring that our quality and timing concepts are met.
Logistics & Coordination: Practical handling of deliveries and collaboration with local assistants and partners.
About You – The Practical Pioneer
We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and who takes full ownership of the machinery and its condition.
Background: You have a relevant agricultural background (e.G., farmer, machinery operator, or agricultural machinery mechanic).
Technical Skills: You are an "expert" with a wrench and have a good understanding of modern agricultural technology, GPS guidance, irrigation systems, etc.
IT Skills: You are familiar with the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) for simple registrations and production management.
Languages: You speak and write English fluently.
Knowledge of Portuguese is a significant advantage;
otherwise, we expect you to be willing to learn the language.
Personality: You are solution-oriented and see opportunities rather than limitations.
You can work independently in a "remote" setup and thrive in a versatile workday.
Residency: You are willing to reside in the immediate vicinity of our production areas in Portugal to ensure a strong presence in the daily operations.

Irá reportar ao nosso Operation Manager e será responsável por garantir que o trabalho prático seja executado com a máxima precisão.
As suas principais tarefas serão:
Operação de Máquinas e Trabalho de Campo: Condução e manuseamento de máquinas agrícolas para sementeira, manutenção e tratamento do solo de culturas especializadas.
Manutenção Técnica: Responsabilidade por garantir que o parque de máquinas funcione de forma otimizada.
Irá realizar o diagnóstico de avarias e pequenas reparações no terreno.
Monitorização da Produção: Controlo contínuo do estado das culturas e garantia de que os nossos conceitos de qualidade e timing são cumpridos.
Logística e Coordenação: Gestão prática de entregas e colaboração com ajudantes e parceiros locais.
Sobre Si – O Pioneiro Prático
Procuramos uma pessoa que não tenha receio de "deitar mãos à obra" e que assuma a responsabilidade pelas máquinas e pelo seu estado de conservação.
Experiência: Possui formação ou experiência relevante no setor agrícola (ex: agricultor, operador de máquinas ou mecânico de máquinas agrícolas).
Competências Técnicas: É um "especialista" com a chave de fendas e tem boa compreensão de tecnologia agrícola moderna, sistemas de GPS, rega, etc.
Competências de TI: Está familiarizado com o pacote Microsoft Office (especialmente Excel) para registos simples e gestão de produção.
Idiomas: Fluência em Inglês (falado e escrito).
Conhecimentos de Português são uma grande vantagem;
caso contrário, esperamos que tenha vontade de aprender o idioma.
Personalidade: É focado na solução e vê oportunidades onde outros veem limitações.
Consegue trabalhar de forma independente num ambiente "remoto" e adapta-se bem a um dia-a-dia dinâmico.
Residência: Disponibilidade para residir nas proximidades das nossas áreas de produção em Portugal, garantindo uma forte presença na operação.
