Senior Automation Engineer
The role involves leading the technical aspects of automation projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion. This includes designing and implementing software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and commissioning equipment on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop software applications using established libraries and frameworks.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to integrate engineering tool chains and ensure seamless project execution.
* Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of PLC Standard Modules and relevant industry standards.
* Collaborate with development teams to enhance project planning processes and software libraries.
* Lead design phases, describing planned software functionality and coordinating interfaces with external parties.
* Implement automation solutions within specified cost, quality, and schedule constraints, supporting bid managers during calculations.
* Conduct on-site commissioning according to established standards, including integration and customer acceptance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation, or equivalent professional experience.
* Extensive experience in team leadership for PLC project engineering and commissioning, as well as programming skills in TIA and failsafe applications.
* Several years of experience in technological logistics systems or automation systems from various industries.
* Familiarity with SIMATIC HW product range SPS S7-TIA, with expertise in commissioning and common bus systems such as Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus, AS-I Bus, and CAN Bus.
* Excellent English and German language skills, along with intercultural competence and strong teamwork abilities.
* A willingness to travel to project locations (approximately 30-40%) is expected.
