Key Duties
Web Development
* Architect and build high-performance React applications with a focus on optimal rendering and state management
* Implement complex UI components following best practices and design patterns
* Apply performance optimisation techniques, including code splitting, memorisation, and lazy loading
* Write well-typed, maintainable TypeScript code with proper interfaces and type safety
Mobile Development
* Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native
* Implement native modules and bridge native functionality when required
* Optimise mobile app performance, including bundle size, startup time, and runtime efficiency
* Handle platform-specific considerations for iOS and Android, including permissions, navigation patterns, and UI guidelines
* Manage mobile app deployment processes, including app store submissions and over-the-air updates
Collaboration & Leadership
* Collaborate with the UX team to create responsive, accessible, and visually consistent user experiences across web and mobile platforms
* Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality standards
* Establish frontend testing practices using Jest, React Testing Library, and appropriate mobile testing frameworks
* Work closely with backend teams to design efficient APIs that serve both web and mobile clients
Attributes and Skills to Succeed
* You have 5+ years of experience building production React applications, with deep knowledge of hooks, context, and the React ecosystem
* You're proficient in TypeScript, understanding advanced types, generics, and type inference
* You have a proven track record of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in frontend applications
* You're experienced with modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Vite, ESBuild) and understand build optimisation
* You have strong knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development
* You're passionate about clean, maintainable code and follow SOLID principles
* You stay current with frontend trends but can distinguish between valuable innovations and unnecessary complexity
* You excel in cross-functional teams and can clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* You've worked with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Jotai) and understand their trade-offs
