Your role A Shift Leader is the operational backbone of the restaurant during their shift. Working within the Olala! F&B concept in Cascais, this role holds full responsibility for every aspect of the outlet from the moment the doors open until closing – guest experience, team performance, service standards, cash and stock controls, and compliance. The Shift Leader acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the Outlet Manager and is the primary point of escalation for both guests and team members. Your Journey Open and/or close the outlet following established checklists and procedures. Oversee all F&B activities across the outlet – floor, bar, and kitchen liaison – during the assigned shift. Ensure service standards and brand presentation are consistently met or exceeded. Manage table flow, reservations, and guest waitlists to maximise covers and minimise wait times. Step in on the floor, bar, or host stand whenever operational demands require it. Team Leadership Supervise, brief, and motivate the FOH team at shift start and throughout service. Assign stations and side duties; ensure coverage gaps are addressed in real time. Coach team members on service techniques, product knowledge, and upselling. Lead by example in attitude, grooming, punctuality, and guest interaction. Escalate performance or conduct concerns to the Outlet Manager promptly. Guest Experience Greet and interact with guests proactively; resolve complaints on the spot with empathy and authority. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and act on feedback immediately. Ensure all special requests, dietary requirements, and allergy alerts are communicated and executed correctly. Stock, Cash & Compliance Conduct or oversee opening and closing cash counts; reconcile floats and report discrepancies. Monitor stock levels during shift; log wastage, breakage, and requisitions accurately. Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene regulations throughout the shift. Enforce responsible service of alcohol and licensing regulations at all times. Reporting & Administration Complete shift reports covering covers, revenue highlights, incidents, maintenance issues, and handover notes. Communicate relevant information to the incoming shift leader or manager at every handover. Support the Outlet Manager with scheduling inputs and inventory counts as requested. What Do You Bring To Your Trip Minimum 2 years' experience in F&B service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or shift‐leading role. Background in a restaurant, hotel F&B, or hospitality group environment is a strong advantage. Solid working knowledge of POS systems and basic cash‐handling procedures. Food hygiene/safety certification (HACCP or equivalent) preferred.
