This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the career readiness and professional development of Nanyang Business School's undergraduate population (approx. 4,000 students). The incumbent will lead and drive key initiatives that deliver impactful outcomes through mentoring programmes, internships, and large-scale industry engagement events. By building strong partnerships with employers, government agencies, and alumni, the role directly supports the School's strategic goal to enhance student employability, nurture cross-cultural competencies, and elevate the School's reputation as a top talent source for industry.
Responsibilities:
A. Mentoring Programmes
1. Strategise, manage, and scale the NBS Mentoring Programme to reach the target of mentoring 75% of the undergraduate cohort (>1,000 mentees annually).
2. Design and implement mentoring models to suit varying student needs, including structured and thematic mentoring formats.
3. Actively engage, recruit, and retain mentors from alumni, industry professionals, and strategic partners.
4. Oversee programme operations, including mentor-mentee matching, training, communications, and feedback collection.
B. Internship Programme Leadership
5. Lead the NBS internship portfolio comprising:
Professional Attachments (PAs): Over 1,200 compulsory placements annually.
Long-Term Internships: Approx. 300 non-credit bearing, semester-based internships.
6. Work with faculty, students, and employers to ensure internship quality, policy compliance, and successful outcomes.
7. Guide the implementation of flexible and cross-cultural internship arrangements, both locally and overseas.
8. Drive employer outreach and matchmaking processes to secure meaningful roles aligned with students' academic specialisations.
C. Industry Engagement Events
9. Lead the planning and execution of flagship outreach events such as:
NBS Career Day (targeting 1,500 internship and job opportunities)
#GetReal Series (providing career and industry insights to 1,400+ students annually)
10. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and service vendors to ensure high-impact delivery.
11. Evaluate event effectiveness and continuously improve student and employer engagement strategies.
D. Stakeholder Collaboration
12. Engage with external stakeholders to ensure alignment with market needs.
13. Collaborate with internal units including academic schools, global programmes, and student life teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
14. Serve as the point-of-contact for employers and mentors on programme-related matters.
E. Data and Quality Management
15. Track quantitative and qualitative KPIs across initiatives to ensure targets are met.
16. Analyse student and employer feedback to improve programme design and delivery.
17. Ensure adherence to NTU internship policies and compliance frameworks.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
18. A recognised Bachelor's degree
19. At least 8 years of relevant experience in higher education, career services, employer engagement, student development, or related sectors.
Competencies and Skills
20. Proven leadership in programme development and stakeholder management.
21. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences.
22. Strong interpersonal and coaching abilities, with demonstrated experience in managing relationships with industry partners, alumni, and students.
23. Deep understanding of employer recruitment cycles, student development needs, and the graduate employment landscape.
24. Competency in using digital tools/platforms for events, mentoring, internships, and analytics.
25. High degree of adaptability, problem-solving, and ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
26. Project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple large-scale initiatives concurrently.
27. Experience with data reporting and outcome measurement is a plus.
