Backend Developer Job Description
Our Development Hub is expanding in Lisbon, and we're looking for a passionate .NET Backend Developer to join our growing team. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Nordics, UK & Germany to build and evolve industry-leading products.
As a Backend Developer, your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust backend services using .NET 6+ and C#. You'll work within a modern microservices architecture, building clean, well-structured WebAPIs leveraging Entity Framework, Dapper, LINQ, and raw SQL. You'll also write automated unit tests using xUnit to ensure high code quality and maintainability.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you'll contribute to and maintain technical documentation for internal teams and future developers. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Designers, and fellow Developers to create intuitive and impactful solutions. You'll also participate in DevOps activities and CI/CD practices, bringing engineering excellence into every release.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
* 5–10 years of experience with .NET (6+), C#, WebAPI, LINQ, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
* Hands-on experience with MassTransit (including saga orchestration and RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems).
* Solid skills in database modeling, microservices, and containerized environments.
* Familiar with DevOps principles and confident with CI/CD pipelines.
* Comfortable with tools like Jira, GitLab, and GitHub.
