Offer Description The University of Coimbra opens a call for the assignment of a research grant, with one position, under the project COMPETE2030‐FEDER‐00888100, title "ADSafeVANET – Enhanced Driving for Safer Vehicular Networks."Responsibilities Work will begin with a review of relevant literature and project documentation related to human‐centered design in automotive contexts, connected vehicles, and situational awareness, and an analysis of the use cases addressed in ADSafeVANET Task 2.Based on this analysis, the scholarship holder will contribute to the design of multimodal in‐vehicle interface concepts addressing overtaking and pedestrian crossing scenarios. These concepts will be refined and prototyped using digital design tools and integrated into a simulated driving environment.The work will focus on the evaluation of the proposed interfaces through controlled laboratory studies, including VR‐based simulations, to assess usability, user experience, and potential distraction effects. Results will be analyzed and documented, generating design insights and technical contributions that feed directly into the deliverables of ADSafeVANET Task 2.Eligibility / Qualifications Applicants must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:Portuguese nationals or nationals of other EU Member StatesNationals of third countriesStateless personsBeneficiaries of political refugee status (with permanent and habitual residence in Portugal at the start of the grant)Applicants must be graduates in Multimedia Communication or Design and Multimedia enrolled in a master's degree, in the scientific area of Design and Multimedia.Funding Monthly grant amount (paid by bank transfer at the end of each month): €1,090.98.Renewal possibility: possibly renewable.
