The role
We are seeking a Software Security Engineering Manager to drive the improvement of security across our software and platforms. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Software Security and build and manage a team of skilled security engineers. You’ll also be leading the growth of your team members by appraising performance, and assisting them with their career development. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in application, cloud, and platform security & development combined with leadership abilities to inspire and guide the team towards achieving its mission.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Manage and lead a security engineering team focused on improving the security of software and platforms.
· Ensure the effective operation and reliability of security solutions across software and platform environments.
· Drive the ongoing maturity and optimization of vulnerability management processes to reduce risk and improve security posture.
· Translate strategic goals into actionable, detailed plans that empower engineers to improve security across software and platforms.
· Collaborate with technology stakeholders to establish metrics demonstrating security proficiency and operational excellence in vulnerability management across major technology teams.
· Oversee the integration and operation of security tools within the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to identify and mitigate risks efficiently.
· Perform other duties as required to support the team's mission and objectives.
What You’ll Bring
* Proficient in executing programs such as reducing vulnerabilities and risk.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS.
* A technical background with a proven track record ofleadingand managingmulti-disciplinaryteams delivering complexsoftwareprojects, experience experience in software development is a plus (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java).
* Excellent stakeholder management skills to engage, communicate, negotiate and work towards compromise and success during our product lifecycle.
* Experience leading people and supporting their career development plans;
* Demonstrated expertise in fostering and advancing a collaborative team culture;
* Strong experience with managing programs and projects via tools like Jira
* Stronganalyticalanddiagnosticskills,particularlyconcerningtechnicalrisks, issues, and constraints;
* Seniorprinciples,leadingby example, showingworkethic and passionate,professionalattitude;
* Excellent written and verbalcommunicationskills (English and Portuguese);
