Your new company
You will be joining a leading organisation in the renewable energy and industrial engineering sector, currently undergoing a large-scale digital and data transformation program.
Your new role
As Head of Data Platform, you will lead the design, evolution and governance of the organisation’s data foundation. You will be responsible for structuring data domains, strengthening the current data platform, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality data products to the business.
You will manage and grow a multidisciplinary team — including Data Engineers, Data Operations and Reporting/Analytics — currently composed of around 10 professionals and expected to expand significantly. Operating in an Agile model supported by Product Managers and Scrum Masters, you will guide the organisation towards a scalable, governed and domain-driven data ecosystem built on Azure and Snowflake.
Responsibilities
Lead the strategy, architecture and implementation of the Data Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability and alignment with business priorities.
Drive the consolidation of data domains and implement best-practice Data Foundation principles, including ingestion, modelling, quality and lineage.
Deploy and maintain Data Governance frameworks, with a strong focus on data catalogues, ownership and policies.
Support AI Delivery teams by structuring data for advanced analytics, machine learning models and AI Agents.
Manage and develop the Data Platform team (Data Engineering, Data Ops, Reporting/Analytics), including tech leads and external partners.
Coordinate with Product Managers and Scrum Masters to deliver high-impact data products in Agile environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional senior stakeholders, including engineering, operational teams and international business units.
Oversee the work of external suppliers
Ensure the platform supports the organisation’s OKRs and reporting needs.
What you'll need to succeed
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
Extensive experience in leading large-scale Data Platform initiatives.
Strong technical background in Azure ecosystems.
Solid understanding of Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Quality and modern architecture principles (Data Mesh, Domain-Driven Design).
Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams in Agile environments.
Ability to work effectively with complex stakeholder groups, including international teams and highly technical engineering profiles.
Strong communication, assertiveness and the resilience needed to navigate organisational transformation.
Experience working with suppliers and external partners.
Strategic mindset, with the capacity to influence, prioritise and drive impactful deliveries.
