MICE Sales Manager Position
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MICE sales manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales department, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our hotel's services to clients.
Your primary objective will be to consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to both internal and external guests. This includes ensuring prompt and courteous service is provided at all times.
You will also be responsible for conducting performance reviews after probation and on an annual basis. Additionally, you will need to ensure compliance with our Performance Management Process (PMP) requirements.
In terms of revenue generation, you will be expected to consistently achieve targets through in-house and off-site sales activities and special events. You will also be required to develop new ideas to enhance the department's offer using creative marketing and communication tools.
As a sales manager, you will identify and acquire new clients in the MICE segment. You will attend trade shows, roadshows, and industry events to promote our brand and generate leads.
You will also create innovative events such as themed evenings, special dinners, fashion shows, charity or music events. Your role will involve staying informed about key events happening in the region and supervising proposals, billing, and execution of events.
Furthermore, you will attend events and ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction. You will maintain positive relationships with guests, suppliers, partners, tour operators, journalists, and global sales networks.
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. You should be highly responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar sales position, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
* Fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese is an asset
* Degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is an asset
* Solid knowledge of the regional tourism landscape
* Strong team spirit and collaboration skills
* Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Opera Cloud is an asset
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
* Highly responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented
