We're Hiring: Freelance Professor – Parametric & Computational Interior Design
The Cascais School of Arts & Design is seeking a Freelance Professor to teach Module: Parametric and Computational Interior Design within our postgraduate programme.
Commitment: 64 hours
Schedule: 3 days per week, 16 hours per week
Start Date: Feb 24th, 2025

What you'll do
• Deliver lectures, workshops, and project-based teaching on parametric and computational design principles applied to interior design.
• Introduce students to generative design, algorithmic thinking, and data-driven design approaches.
• Provide hands-on instruction using computational design tools such as Grasshopper, Rhino.
• Guide students in integrating real-world data (environmental, spatial, material, or user-based) into interior design solutions.
• Support students in exploring digital fabrication processes, including 3D printing and CNC milling, as part of their design development.
• Supervise and critique self-directed parametric design projects, from proposal stage through final presentation.
• Participate in critiques, feedback sessions, and final project evaluations, ensuring alignment with module learning outcomes.
What we're looking for
• Strong knowledge of parametric and computational design methodologies within architecture or interior design.
• Practical experience with computational design software (Grasshopper, Rhino).
• Understanding of data-driven design, digital workflows, and contemporary fabrication techniques.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or leading design workshops at undergraduate or postgraduate level (preferred).
• Ability to connect theory, technology, and practice, using case studies and applied examples.
• A collaborative teaching mindset and commitment to critical, future-oriented design education.
