· Apply mass and energy balances, along with supporting mathematical models, to quantify material flows and emissions,
producing structured datasets for LCA tools

· Conduct
toxicological assessments
using in silico tools, experimental data, and threshold values (e.g., DNEL), generating datasets for environmental impact modelling.
· Develop and validate predictive models of health hazards and environmental impacts using
structured datasets
and data-driven approaches.
· Build
integrated databases
, aligned with FAIR data principles.
· Implement
LCI models
and link them with toxicological indicators to support
SSbD decision-making
.
· Lead
bespoke research activities
within our projects.
· Perform
data analysis and visualisations
using Excel or other tools (e.g., Tableau, R).
· Prepare
technical reports
(deliverables), peer-reviewed articles, white papers, briefings, and other materials covering all aspects of sustainability.
· Deliver presentations at national and international
workshops and conferences
.
· Map
EU and Portuguese funding opportunities
.
· Contribute to the design and writing of
new R&D project proposals
(e.g., Horizon Europe).
REQUIREMENTS
· Degree in
Chemical and Process Engineering or Industrial Chemistry Engineering
, complemented by a specialisation in toxicological and environmental assessment and data analysis.
· Minimum of
2 years of experience
in assessing chemical processes using mass and energy balances, combined with toxicological or environmental data analysis in engineering or research contexts.
· Excellent command of English (spoken and written),
equivalent to Cambridge English C1 proficiency
.
· Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a
problem-solving mindset and strong teamwork skills
, while also able to work independently when required.
· Ability to follow and complete complex instructions efficiently and
within deadlines

· Strong
willingness to learn new topics and skills
, and to develop innovative insights.

Availability and readiness to travel abroad
, including overnight stays for meetings and events.
