Full-time | Permanent
About the Role
We are partnering with an innovative semiconductor technology company seeking a junior EDA Engineer to support the development and optimisation of design environments for integrated circuits (IC) and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers (1–2 years' experience) with a strong software or computer engineering background who are interested in working at the intersection of software, hardware, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain EDA toolchains (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor)
* Support design and verification flows across Electronic Integrated Circuits (EIC) and Photonic IC (PIC) environments (approx. 70% EIC focus)
* Manage and maintain PDKs (Process Design Kits) from foundries
* Develop and automate workflows using scripting (Python, TCL, Bash, etc.)
* Set up and optimise simulation environments and tooling
* Improve compute resource utilisation (CPU/RAM, licensing efficiency)
* Maintain project databases, version control, and backups
* Provide technical support to design teams and contribute to best practices
Skills & Experience
* 1–2 years' experience in EDA, IC design environments, or similar
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
* Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, TCL, Perl, Bash)
* Understanding of EDA workflows:
* RTL simulation
* Synthesis
* Static Timing Analysis (STA)
* Layout, DRC/LVS
* Familiarity with version control systems
Nice to Have
* Exposure to digital or analogue design concepts
* Knowledge of DFT, Monte Carlo, or PVT simulations
* Experience working in Cadence-based front-end flows
Why Apply?
* Join a cutting-edge engineering environment in the semiconductor space
* Gain hands-on experience across full design flows and toolchains
* Work closely with experienced IC design and verification teams
* Opportunity to build strong foundations in EDA automation and infrastructure
