Job Description
YOUR ROLE
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of software, hardware and CAD engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Team Management: Collaborate across the organisation with internal stakeholders, managing Team resource allocation to both development and customer delivery projects.
* Technical Strategy Development: Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with company objectives, overseeing the entire engineering development lifecycle from conception to deployment.
* Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
* Certification, Compliance, Budgeting and Risk Management: Ensure product development certification and accreditation together with compliance, and overseeing budgeting, risk management and mitigation strategies.
OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB:
* Education: Minimum of a Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions within manufacturing industry.
* Project Management skills: Demonstrated track record in managing product development projects – planning, coordination and execution cross-functional projects – balancing technical, budget and schedule constraints and ensuring alignment with PM standards.
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of engineering research and development activities. Experience with embedded systems is highly recommended.
* Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate integrated teams and communicate successfully within the wider organisation.
CHECK IF YOU ARE/HAVE:
* Electronics Engineering: Hardware, software and system engineering experience ideally in defense industry. Applicants with experience in some of areas of expertise such as analogue and digital design, RF communications, high speed and multilayer digital boards will be preferable.
* Cloud Platforms (optional): Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
* Cybersecurity (optional): Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, ensuring the security and integrity of defense systems.
