At
Curiouz
, we're building the tech backbone of the vintage furniture world – a platform that connects the best dealers on the planet with design lovers and trade buyers, while making circular design easier, smarter, and more transparent.
We're now looking for a
Back End Developer
to help us scale our marketplace, integrate with key tools (like Shopify), and power logistics and verification systems that sit behind the scenes of every beautiful piece that goes live on Curiouz.
If you love clean, reliable code
and
the idea of giving second (and third) lives to design icons, keep reading.
What you'll work on
You will be responsible for building and maintaining the "invisible" side of Curiouz – the APIs, integrations, and services that make the platform feel simple for our users:
Develop and maintain back-end services in
PHP (Laravel)
Design and optimise
MySQL
data models, complex queries, and performance
Build and consume
REST APIs
used by our front end, internal tools, and partners
Implement and maintain
system integrations
(internal tools, logistics, payments, etc.)
Work with
GraphQL
and
Shopify integrations
to support our marketplace and B2B flows
Contribute to and maintain
automated tests
to keep our platform stable as we grow
Support deployment and hosting workflows (
Cloudways
,
Vercel
) and help improve our CI/CD practices
Collaborate closely with our product, front-end, and operations teams to turn real marketplace needs into robust technical solutions
What we're looking for (hard skills)
You'll be a great fit technically if you have:
Solid experience with
PHP
and the
Laravel framework
Strong
SQL/MySQL
skills: data modeling, complex queries, and query optimisation
Experience with
REST API
development and integration
Experience with
system integrations
(third-party services, internal APIs, etc.)
A strong foundation in
logic and algorithms
Experience with
GraphQL
and
Shopify integrations
Familiarity with
Cloudways
Knowledge of
automated testing
(e.g. PHPUnit, Pest or similar)
Experience with deployment and hosting on
Vercel
(or similar platforms)
What we'd love (soft stuff)
You're curious by nature – you like understanding the "why" behind a feature, not just the "what".
You care about
code quality
and long-term maintainability, not just quick fixes.
You're comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with changing priorities.
You communicate clearly and proactively with non-technical teammates.
You're excited by design, culture, and/or sustainability (or at least a bit intrigued!)
Why join Curiouz?
Help build the go-to platform for vintage furniture
Work closely with founders and have a real say in technical and product decisions
Be part of a small, ambitious, and very human team
Join a mission that blends technology, design heritage, and circular economy
