Refrigeration / HVAC Engineer (Modulair
) with a high level of technical competence, independence, and willingness to travel.
Role Overview
Our client are seeking experienced Refrigeration / HVAC Engineers to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of AHU and cooling systems across multiple European locations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation of AHU, HVAC, and refrigeration systems;
Commissioning and testing of new equipment;
Fault finding, diagnostics, and repair;
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Leak detection and safe handling of refrigerants;
System performance checks and optimisation;
Completion of all required documentation (commissioning reports, F-Gas logs, service records);
Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams;
Taking ownership of systems and site activities, including responsibility for quality and compliance.
Qualifications & Certification
Mandatory
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar qualifications in the fields of Thermal/Energy/Refrigeration and Air Conditioning;
Valid F-Gas Certification (Category I preferred, EU recognised);
Recognised HVAC / Refrigeration qualification (or equivalent experience);
Full EU driving licence;
Eligibility to work across the EU;
Preferred
Electrical experience;
Experience with AHUs, chillers, DX systems, VRF systems;
IPAF / MEWP certification;
Health & Safety certifications (relevant to construction / site work);
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in HVAC / refrigeration;
Strong commissioning and fault-finding capability;
Experience working on commercial or industrial projects;
Ability to work independently on-site;
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and components;
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics;
Understanding of airflow, capacity (kW), and system performance;
Ability to identify system issues and recommend solutions on-site;
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel across Europe;
Flexibility to work on international projects;
Compliance Requirements
Hold a valid F-Gas certification in line with EU regulations (EU F-Gas Regulation ******** and updates);
Be competent in handling refrigerants safely and legally;
Maintain accurate service and refrigerant records as required by law;
