Job Overview
The Industrial Design Manager drives the implementation of lean industrial design principles during program development, industrialization, and launch phases. The goal is to achieve the highest quality, cost, delivery, and performance standards in series production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive program and launch KPIs related to operations: work packages on-time delivery, manufacturing process time on time, launch costs
* Coach and manage LID deployment with PMLs, ME project managers, and PLTLs, ensuring alignment with global best standards and industrial strategy
* Provide training, guidance, and individual coaching during process development and launch phases
Requirements:
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
* Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* At least 7 years of experience in programs, manufacturing engineering, TE Global Auto, or production
* Leadership skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Decision-making, networking, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively at various levels of the organization and with external partners or vendors
* Thorough knowledge of engineering techniques associated with project management
* Problem-solving and conflict management skills, customer focus
* Lean manufacturing knowledge: line concept, one-piece flow, plant layout for flow, SMED, batch size optimization, Kanban pull system, production system with fixed batch replenishment, Kaizen workshop, standardized work
* Practical knowledge of APQP functions, continuous improvement, and analytical and action planning tools
* Understanding finance basics: costing, investments, plant P&L
* Bilingual (English required)
