Overview
Senior Research Data Scientist | Machine Learning | Personalized Medicine at iLoF, a deep-tech startup focused on transforming precision medicine. You will be a prominent member of the data science team, developing models for predicting medical conditions from biomedical data and photonic signals, and helping advance an AI-powered bioinformatics diagnostics platform.

Your Role / Responsibilities
* Independently own the full pipeline of specific data science projects from conception to deployment.
* Dive into proprietary datasets, explore, analyze, and extract insights that advance personalized medicine.
* Develop advanced algorithms, statistical models, and machine learning techniques to uncover meaningful patterns in complex data.
* Collaborate with the head of the department and cross-functional teams to influence product development and decision-making through data.
* Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and personalized medicine, applying new methodologies to enhance products.
* Communicate findings, methodologies, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Engage with unique datasets and human-derived signals, bringing hands-on expertise to the work.
* Contribute to exploring new data types, including medical-source data such as omics (genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics) and other data forms (tabular, time series, physiological signals).
* Contribute to the development of algorithms and models for the company’s cloud libraries of diseases.
* Work independently while thriving as a collaborative team player with leadership experience and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
* Maintain a strong passion for innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
* PhD or relevant degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Neuroscience, or related field. Exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree and proven research experience will be considered.
* 3+ years of experience solving data-driven problems in academia or industry, ideally with biomedical signals.
* Experience in data science applied to omics data is preferred but not mandatory.
* Experience in fast-paced environments, preferably in a deep-tech startup or high-growth setting.
* Extensive experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
* Strong understanding of statistical concepts, predictive modeling, and experimental design.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex data analysis and signal processing challenges.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.
* Experience supervising junior members is welcome but not required.
