We are looking for an AI Engineer / Data Scientist
Main Tasks:
* Develop and deploy AI/ML models: design, build, train, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions for use cases such as risk management, market analysis, financing, and operational efficiency.
* Perform data analysis and feature engineering: extract, clean, and transform large datasets; identify and engineer relevant features to improve model performance.
* Contribute to MLOps and industrialization: support integration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of models in production; collaborate on CI/CD pipelines.
* Collaborate within a distributed and international team, participating in agile ceremonies (dailies, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
* Communicate technical concepts and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Drive innovation and research by staying up to date with AI/ML advancements and experimenting with new approaches.
* Ensure code quality and best practices (documentation, Git, reusable components).
* Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
* Support stakeholder engagement by demonstrating the value of AI/Data solutions.
Your Profile and Skills
* Education: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
* Experience: Proven experience as a Data Scientist or AI Engineer with a strong understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle. Experience in financial services is a plus.
Technical Skills:
* Strong proficiency in Python (mandatory); knowledge of R is a plus.
* Experience with ML libraries/frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
* Solid understanding of MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML services.
* Proficiency in SQL.
* Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
* Knowledge of CI/CD practices.
Other Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
* Team player with experience in distributed/international teams.
* Strong communication skills.
* Fluent in English (mandatory); Portuguese is a plus.
Hybrid work model, with presence required in Porto or Lisbon office.
