Job Description:
Sous Chef
As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service, quality, and value to our guests. You will assist with training, assigning duties, and supervising the kitchen staff during the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items.
You will also play a crucial role in the development of new menu offerings, banquet menus, and reviewing all banquet event orders.
* Organize and coordinate the operations of the department, working closely with the Chef, to optimize human and material resources.
* Support the Chef in creating, designing, managing, and controlling the gastronomic offer of the hotel proactively, with regular reviews.
* Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity.
* Supervise the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes according to recipes/menu within company guidelines.
* Analyze the F&B profit and loss statement to ensure the achievement of objectives.
* Manage and control stocks, orders, and inventories of utensils, food, and drink necessary for hotel operations.
* Ensure the quality of products and utensils used in services.
* Implement and maintain a task cleaning plan for all kitchen facilities.
* Manage staff shifts and schedules, including absences and vacations.
* Support the Chef in selecting, training, and evaluating staff members.
* Daily supervise the correct image of personnel and ensure excellent customer treatment.
* Address and resolve customer complaints and suggestions, forwarding them to superiors.
* Collaborate and support all hotel departments.
* Ensure standards are maintained in terms of quality, environment, HACCP, and occupational health and safety.
* In the absence of the Chef, assume all responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* At least 2-3 years' experience as a Chef de Partie, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity.
* Vocational training in hospitality/F&B/kitchen.
* Fluency in local language; knowledge of English is highly valuable.
* Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Microsoft Office, POS, etc).
* Excellent management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Customer service oriented.
* Focus on detail.
* Flexible and reliable.
* Good team player.
