About the roleWe're looking for a senior-level Accountant with hands-on experience with Portuguese legislation to support our international operations in the entertainment and live events space.This is a hands-on role with real ownership — ideal for someone who wants to go beyond bookkeeping and be involved in structuring, compliance, and decision-making across cross-border operations.Key responsibilitiesAccounting & ReportingManage full-cycle accounting under Portuguese GAAP (SNC)Prepare monthly and annual financial statementsHandle reconciliations, general ledger, and closing processesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow trackingMIBC / Madeira ComplianceEnsure compliance with Zona Franca da Madeira requirementsMonitor substance criteria (employment, operations, expenses)Maintain alignment with approved activity scopeSupport audits and documentation related to MIBC statusTax & Legal CompliancePrepare and submit VAT (IVA), IRC, and other filingsStay on top of Portuguese reporting deadlinesCoordinate with authorities and external advisorsSupport payroll-related accounting if neededStrategic SupportAdvise on accounting and tax implications of international operationsWork closely with legal, banking, and external partnersDeliver clear financial insights to support decision-makingWhat we're looking forDegree in Accounting, Finance, or similarCertified Accountant in Portugal (Contabilista Certificado) — preferredProven experience with Madeira (MIBC) structuresStrong knowledge of Portuguese tax and accounting rulesExperience with international / cross-border activityDetail-oriented, organized, and reliableFluent English (written & spoken)Nice to haveBackground in entertainment, events, or services businessesUnderstanding of transfer pricing basicsExperience with EU VAT (especially services/events)Comfortable working with legal and corporate service providersWhy this role is interestingInternational projects in a fast-moving industryReal ownership and decision-making impactFlexible setup (can adapt workload if needed)Long-term collaboration potential
