The role - DBA Senior
Responsibilities
As a Database Administrator Senior, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of database systems to ensure their performance, security, and reliability. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Administer and manage relational databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability
* Develop and execute regular backup strategies; manage disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime
* Maintain and ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across all databases
* Implement security measures including access controls, encryption, and auditing to safeguard sensitive data and comply with regulations
* Automate database tasks through scripting and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Your profile
* You have completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
* Over 7 years of experience in managing Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL Services
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating database tasks
* Experience designing and implementing backup strategies and disaster recovery plans
* Strong expertise in performance optimization, query tuning, and troubleshooting
* Ability to lead database projects, mentor junior DBAs, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
* Fluent in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
