Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Controller to join our Finance Department at a leading investment bank.
This senior-level role is ideal for someone with 3-4 years of experience gained in a top-tier accounting or auditing firm (Big Four) and looking to take the next step in their career.
The role involves overseeing and managing financial reporting within the bank while coordinating with our parent group in China.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial strategy and performance of a major banking group with international operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards.
* Coordinate and consolidate financial reporting for both the Portuguese headquarters and the parent group in China, ensuring compliance with group policies and international financial standards.
* Maintain and improve financial controls, procedures, and systems to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
* Collaborate with other departments to align financial reporting with the bank's broader strategic objectives.
* Supervise and guide junior finance staff, fostering professional development within the team.
* Provide detailed financial analysis and insights into the bank's performance, supporting senior management.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are highly valued).
* 3-4 years of relevant experience gained in a leading accounting or auditing firm (Big Four), with a strong understanding of financial reporting, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
* In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and banking regulations.
* Experience managing financial reporting for an international group or coordinating between subsidiaries is a significant advantage.
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel (experience with banking ERP systems is a plus).
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior management and international teams.
* Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Portuguese and Chinese is a plus.
