The Sines region remains central to this growth, with major CAPEX activity underway across green hydrogen, ammonia, sustainable fuels, and advanced industrial facilities.We are now seeking a Lead Piping Layout Engineer to play a key role on a high-profile energy transition project, delivering critical piping and plant layout design packages through the next phase of development and execution.This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with multidisciplinary teams on one of Portugal's most strategically important hydrogen and e-fuels programmes. You will lead piping design, layout philosophy, model reviews, and cross-discipline coordination ensuring safe, efficient, and constructible design solutions that align with project requirements and regulatory standards.This is a technically challenging role with genuine long-term potential as the programme progresses through FEED, detailed design, and construction.The Role:
• Lead piping layout engineering for a major hydrogen/e-fuels project in Sines
• Develop and oversee piping arrangements, plant layout, and 3 D modelling strategy
• Manage model reviews (E3 D/PDMS), interface coordination, and clash resolution
• Ensure compliance with ASME, BS EN, and project-specific design codes
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and construction teams to ensure fully integrated design packagesThe Person:
• Strong background in piping and plant layout engineering within Energy, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, or Industrial projects
• Proficient in E3 D/PDMS, Plant3 D, or similar 3 D modelling tools
• Solid understanding of ASME B31 codes and relevant BS EN standards
• Experience leading model reviews, coordinating discipline interfaces, and ensuring constructability
• 5+ years in Lead/Senior PipingThis is an excellent long-term role for an experienced Piping/Layout Engineer who wants to take ownership of critical work scopes on an innovative, high-value project driving Portugal's energy transition.
