Financial Accountant Job Description
At AlTi, we are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our International Wealth Management division, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and related activities for German subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform ongoing financial accounting, including maintaining open item accounts (OPOS).
* Prepare quarterly and monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
* Import and reconcile payroll data from HRV systems.
* Post incoming invoices digitally using the designated workflow system.
* Prepare timely VAT returns and where required ZM reports.
* Prepare Bundesbank reporting for large exposures and foreign payments using the general reporting portal, following all relevant regulations.
* Prepare and process payment transactions, direct debits, and outgoing invoices.
* Independently manage special accounting topics as delegated by the Head of Financial Accounting.
* Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Requirements:
* Qualified or practice-trained accountant – Essential.
* Fluent in German and English (written and spoken) – Essential.
* Demonstrated experience in the preparation of financial accounts and reports – Essential.
* Experience in working across multiple concurrent deadlines and managing varied priorities effectively.
* Familiarity with multi-currency accounting and international financial operations.
* Proven experience preparing financial statements under German GAAP (HGB).
* Strong commercial acumen and technical understanding of investment advisory transactions.
* A proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
* Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to financial controls and process enhancements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
