Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recording Financial Transactions
o Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
o Use double-entry bookkeeping to track debits and credits.
o Record revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
2. General Ledger Management
o Maintain the general ledger as the central record of financial data.
o Classify transactions into appropriate accounts (e.g., cash, accounts receivable, inventory).
o Ensure ledger entries are balanced and accurate.
o Prepare financial statements, including:
+ Balance Sheet – Shows assets, liabilities, and equity.
+ Income Statement – Details revenues and expenses.
+ Cash Flow Statement – Tracks cash inflows and outflows.
o Ensure financial reports comply with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
o Process invoices, payments, and collections.
o Manage vendor payments and customer billing.
o Reconcile outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
o Compare internal records with bank statements.
o Identify discrepancies and correct errors.
o Ensure cash balances are accurate.
4. Tax Compliance & Reporting
o Calculate and file corporate taxes, VAT, and other obligations.
o Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
o Assist in tax audits and reporting.
5. Budgeting & Financial Planning
o Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
o Monitor financial performance and variances.
6. Auditing & Internal Controls
o Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
o Support internal and external audits.
o Identify and prevent financial discrepancies or fraud.
7. Managing Government-Mandated Benefits and Business Compliance
o Ensure Compliance with All Government Requirements
o Secure and Renew Business Permits
o Ensure Timely Tax Filing and Payments
o Monitor Legal and Policy Updates
o Prepare for Government Audits and Inspections
8. Ad-Hoc Projects
o Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed, including financial analyses, system upgrades, and process enhancements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or any related field.
* CPA Certification is a plus.
* 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting. Prior experience in a captive or startup company is highly preferred.
* Familiarity with Philippine financial regulations, tax laws, and PFRS.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control.
* Able to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively.
