)LEAD OFFSHORE ENGINEERThe Lead Offshore Engineer is responsible for overseeing offshore construction and installation activities for Gazelle projects.
With extensive experience in offshore engineering and project management, the main objective is to ensure the successful execution of offshore operations, including vessel mobilization, equipment deployment, and subcontractor coordination.
The role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage project teams and stakeholders effectively while adhering to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.DepartmentTechnology & InnovationQualification levelBachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineeringLocationPortugalHiring date01-04-2025Professional experience8-10 years of experience in offshore engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects in the renewable energy or offshore industry.Experience in offshore construction, installation, and commissioning activities, with a focus on wind energy projects.Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.Specific professional specialization relevantExpertise in offshore construction and installation, with a deep understanding of marine operations and logistics.Familiarity with offshore structural design principles, including support structures for wind turbines and associated infrastructure.Knowledge of dynamic positioning systems, mooring systems, and marine vessel operations.Experience with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices in the offshore industry.Others requirementsStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage project teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to offshore construction and installation activities.Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and make timely decisions to resolve challenges during project execution.Multidisciplinary skills and good knowledge of cross functional disciplines.Should demonstrate enthusiasm, support, and engagement with their team.Fluency in English is required; Portuguese is beneficial but not mandatory.Activities/FunctionsLead offshore installation campaigns for project SWIFT, including planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities.Manage marine operations, including vessel mobilization, offshore logistics, and equipment deployment, to ensure efficient project delivery.Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to oversee the fabrication, transportation, and installation of offshore structures and components.Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the construction and installation process.Monitor project progress and performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and client representatives to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and achieve project objectives.Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to maintain a safe working environment and mitigate potential hazards.Prepare progress reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on project status and performance.Stay informed about industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in offshore wind energy, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.General conditionsLocation:Based in our Viana do Castelo office.Minimum 3 days per week in the office, ideally 4-5 days.Contract & Working Hours:Permanent contract with an initial trial period.40-hour work week.22 days of vacation annually.Compensation & Benefits:Salary range: €4,286 - €5,714 gross per month (based on experience), 14 salaries per year.Food allowance: €9.60 per working day (approx.
