NoOffer Description Scientific Advisor: Luís Manuel De Jesus Sousa Correia (ist12076) Organic Unit: Scientific Area of Telecommunications Scholarship Theme: Bridging between Critical Communications and Railway Communications in 5G Networks Duration: 3 months Maximum Duration Including Renewals: 3 monthsObjectives To develop a model for the analysis of the bridging between critical communications with railway communications in 5G networks by analysing the commonalities and the differences.Work Plan The thesis will be developed according to the following steps:Study of 5G/NR aspects – study of the basic aspects of 5G/NR.Study of implementation of private networks – study of the implementation of private networks, namely mission critical and railway ones.Study of performance parameters – study of performance parameters to be taken as metrics for the analysis.Scenarios development – development of scenarios for the network analysis.Model development – development of a model for the implementation of mission critical and railway networks addressing radio and network aspects.Model implementation – implementation of the developed model, using previously developed routines.Results assessment – assessment of results by comparison with others from literature.Scenario influence – analysis of the influence of the scenarios on the various performance parameters.Thesis conclusion – conclusion of the thesis by finalising its writing (the previous steps include the writing of the corresponding chapters).Expected result: A model for the analysis of the bridging between critical communications with railway communications in 5G networks by analysing the commonalities and the differences, and a simulator to implement it.Contest Procedure Applications must be exclusively submitted on the admissions platform of the Instituto Superior Técnico at https://fenix.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/fenixedu-admissions and requires registration and validation of the candidate's identity.
