What the role involves
Architect backend services – design and implement robust, scalable APIs and data systems for complex accounting processes
Bridge AI and data – build the infrastructure that connects agentic AI capabilities with financial data and business logic
Own technical implementation – from database design to API architecture, ensuring security and performance
Drive quality – implement comprehensive testing strategies and optimize system performance
What you bring to the table
7+ years of experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript – you write clean, maintainable, production-ready code
Extensive experience with PostgreSQL – schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
Proven ability to design and implement secure, well-documented RESTful API
Solid understanding of backend security best practices and data protection principles
Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest preferred)
Agentic AI understanding – Model Context Protocol, tool calling, autonomous agents and evals
Knowledge of AI patterns – RAG, prompt engineering, LLM integration in production environments
Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
Performance tuning and optimization for backend systems
What we expect from you
Design and develop our agentic platform and new features
Experiment and co-develop new ideas with design and product
Develop and maintain core backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas for financial data storage and retrieval
Implement business logic for accounting features and financial calculations
Build data processing pipelines with validation, transformation, and AI enrichment
Integrate with AI services and external APIs (banking, payment systems, Norwegian government APIs)
Ensure application security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance
Optimize performance for efficient database queries and computational tasks
Collaborate on architectural decisions regarding data flow and system design
You have a work permit for working in Portugal*

Familiarity with Norwegian APIs (Tripletex, Brønnøysund registers, Altinn, banking)
Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures
Experience in fast-paced startup environments
Open source contributions or technical blogging
