Portfolio Strategist
About the Role:
This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the Corporate IT Portfolio in accordance with the Company's Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) framework. The ideal candidate will have experience in aligning project selection and prioritization with corporate strategy, OKRs, and enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Portfolio Management: Ensure the Corporate IT Portfolio is managed effectively, ensuring alignment with company strategy and objectives.
* Project Prioritization: Align project selection and prioritization with corporate IT strategy, OKRs, and enterprise goals.
* Advisory Services: Provide advisory recommendations on project approval, continuation, or termination.
Methodology & Standards:
* Methodology Rollout: Roll out the v1 of the AUTODOC PPM methodology, embedding it with project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
* Arsenal Development: Define and enforce artefact standards (business case, RAID log, status report, benefits-realisation plan, post-implementation review).
* Continuous Improvement: Drive and facilitate improvements based on lessons learned, adjusting methodology and ways of working accordingly.
Reporting & Analytics:
* Progress Reporting: Publish monthly portfolio progress reports and dashboards, highlighting financials, schedule, risk, and benefits realization.
* KPI Tracking: Track Corporate IT KPIs and produce quarterly strategy-execution reports (QPRs).
Benefits Management & Financial Control:
* Benefit Realization: Partner with Finance to quantify, track, and validate project benefits, establishing post-implementation evaluation procedures.
* Financial Monitoring: Monitor capex/opex envelope and forecast variance.
People Leadership & Community Enablement:
* Talent Management: Directly manage a PMO team of six (project managers, coordinator, portfolio manager).
* Community Building: Foster a wider community of practice for ~20 distributed project leads, providing coaching, templates, and quality assurance.
Tooling & Continuous Improvement:
* Tool Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose PPM tooling once methodology adoption is at scale.
* Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices (waterfall for projects, agile for product backlogs).
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Strategic Advisor: Serve as trusted advisor to the VP Corporate IT, project sponsors, and C-level stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, and Product on matters related to Projects Portfolio Planning and Execution.
* Decision Support: Facilitate steering-committee and executive-level decision making with clear, data-driven insights.
