Job Title: Financial Controller
The Victoria Golf Resort & Spa is a unique opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for leading and managing daily operations, directing financial planning and budget management, and analyzing monthly operating results.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with local and international accounting standards.
* Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial processes.
* Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support decision-making.
* Oversee tax planning and compliance with Portugal financial regulations.
* Develop and mentor finance team members to build a high-performing department.
* Collaborate with other departments to drive financial efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in all systems and reports.
* Review financial reports in accordance with reporting calendars and ensure timely submission.
* Provide guidance and supervision to accounting employees, recommending training as necessary.
* Prepare general ledger journals, maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and perform other general and administrative functions.
* Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

Requirements:
An undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field, preferably with a Master's degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, including leadership and team management roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with financial software.
