Application Support Engineer Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Porto as an Application Support Engineer. This role will involve providing technical support to business IT needs, understanding business workflows and scenarios, and maintaining proper coverage in designated shifts.
The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of scripting languages, network environments, Windows, and Linux, as well as good level of SQL (Sybase, Oracle, or Microsoft) experience - minimum 2 years. ITIL understanding is a plus, and knowledge of Ansible is also beneficial.
* Support business IT needs and understand business workflows and scenarios.
* Maintain proper coverage in designated shifts.
* Pick up work and tasks as received via email, tickets, or in person.
* Provide updates on issues/tasks/projects to business teams and other partnering teams.
Responsibilities
* Document and train other team members.
* Shadow team members and seek to improve day-to-day coverage of platforms.
* Share knowledge within the team and document issues/incidents for better follow-up.
* Improve day-to-day tasks by writing scripts and automating procedure-oriented tasks.
* Contribute to post-release checkouts.
* Understand underlying issues and associated patch fixes/releases, and identify systemic issues.
* Be available to work during holidays/weekends on a rotational basis with the rest of the team.
Requirements
* Basic knowledge of scripting languages, network environments, Windows, and Linux.
* Good level of SQL (Sybase, Oracle, or Microsoft) experience - minimum 2 years.
* ITIL understanding is a plus.
* Knowledge of Ansible is a plus.
* Fluency in English (at least B2).
