We are looking for a
Mid/Senior Perception Engineer
to join our Software Mapping team. This role is research-driven and focused on advancing SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) methods for both ground and aerial robots. You will collaborate in efforts to design and optimize perception pipelines — from raw data acquisition to accurate map generation — and contribute to building reliable, real-world-ready mapping systems.
What You'll Do
* Working on a subterranean GPS-denied problem space to minimize drift for production-grade surveys
* Research and evaluate state-of-the-art SLAM and perception methods from academia and open-source communities.
* Adapt and integrate these approaches into robust, production-grade pipelines.
* Design and conduct experiments to validate map accuracy and system performance.
* Perform data acquisition from our custom perception devices to test and refine mapping workflows.
* Collaborate closely with embedded hardware and software engineers to ensure efficient on-board processing and system reliability.
What We're Looking For
* B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in robotics algorithm development, with a strong background in computer vision and SLAM.
* Proven experience working with point clouds and 3D perception data.
* Strong Linux proficiency.
* Advanced programming skills in
C++
and
Python
, with hands-on experience using
ROS
,
LiDAR-Visual SLAM
, and perception pipelines.
- Experience collaborating with other engineers.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Embedded systems knowledge is a plus.
- Fluent in English (minimum B2 level).
