BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Production Planner (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities:
* Analyze raw material and sub-assembly stock levels to ensure production flow (exports SAP reports and compares them with production orders to assess component availability);
* Plan and prepare the production schedule using SAP;
* Act as a liaison between departments, coordinating follow-up activities to ensure effective communication and production organization—especially for new projects, gathering information during project meetings;
* Execute production plans and schedules for each department and operation, aligned with manufacturing goals;
* Adjust the production plan in response to day-to-day variables (e.g., quality issues, material delivery delays);
* Coordinate material supply flow with other planners according to their respective areas of responsibility;
* Manage inventory levels in accordance with defined targets (%);
* Optimize production lines by considering various product models, line interventions, and production requirements;
* Ensure customer delivery deadlines are met (On Time Delivery – OTD);
* Prepare the weekly Master Production Plan;
* Ensure monthly production targets are met as defined in SIOP (%);
* Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all áreas;
* Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards;
* Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period;
* Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules;
* Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, or Industrial Management (or a related field)
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics-related role
* Solid functional knowledge with the ability to train and support others
* Creativity and innovative thinking
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to challenges
* Interpersonal savvy and strong relationship-building skills
* Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments
* High emotional intelligence
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Assertiveness and confidence in decision-making
* Ability to manage stress and work under pressure
