We are looking for a Code 10 Driver in the Western Cape / Cape Town area. The ideal candidate must be willing to work day or night shift as per shift roster
Job Summary
Collect recycling and general waste material safely and efficiently at designated locations, within a set timeframe.
Responsibilities
Primary duties
* Loading and unloading goods from vehicles
* Keeping the vehicle safe and clean
* Refuel and clean vehicles
* Using navigation apps to determine the best route
* Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip
* Performing daily equipment checks
* Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
* Inspect trucks and complete daily vehicle checklist before departing the yard and notify controllers of any issues / defects
* Drives safely and follow all laws and rules of driving, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
* Assist runners by loading and off-loading material at collection points
* Count all bags loaded on vehicle
* Collect, maintain and organize all paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each collection
* Report and document any accidents or vehicles issues to Transport Controllers
* Adhere to all reasonable instructions given by Transport Controllers
* Adhere to OHS ACT legislation
* Adhere to site regulations
* Keep drivers license up to date
Secondary duties
* Assist with all adhoc requests from client
* Assist with any administrative duties when required
* Assist with sorting and other general duties if required
Requirements
* Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 1 - 2 years working experience in a similar role
* Must have a valid Code 10 drivers' license and a valid PDP
* Relevant qualifications and experience, knowledge and skills
* Clean driving record
