What You’ll Do
The Scrum Master is a servant leader responsible for facilitating and enhancing the work of high-performance teams to maximize value delivery and reduce waste with unnecessary work through continuous improvement techniques. The Scrum Master has behavioural and personal skills such as communication, facilitation, and politics. He is also courageous, proactive, and self-confident in making necessary changes, removing impediments, and protecting the team's work. She/ he is neutral enough, aiming to increase the team's responsibility and capacity to solve its own problems and get their own solutions. The Scrum Master is a promoter of agile thinking and culture and works mainly, but not only, with the team so that the defined objectives are achieved in the best way and without deviation of focus.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
2. Promote Lean and Agile principles
3. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
4. Remove impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove them
5. Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
6. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised by the team without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
7. Support and coach the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and maintaining the product backlog according with the priorities and the goals
8. Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
9. Ensures the adoption of Scrum, ensuring that the framework is understood and properly used by the team, but has knowledge of other methods or frameworks such as Kanban to ensure that what is most coherent to carry out the work is used
10. Constantly perform measurements and analyze metrics that matters with the team proposing performance improvements
11. Guiding the team on how to get the most of self-organization
Who You Are
Must have
1. First level Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM I)
2. Good analytic and critical thinking with a problem solving and root of cause analysis drive
3. Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least three years at product/software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
4. Soft skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, coaching, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
5. Fluency in English Language
Nice to have
1. KMP I, KMP II certification
2. Kanban knowledge and practice
3. CSPO or Professional Scrum Product Owner certification
4. Experience with OKRs (especially if played OKRs Champion role)
5. Experience with Design Thinking
6. Experience with Lean Portfolio Management
7. Knowledge or have participated in Scaled Agile initiatives (SAFe, Scrum@Scale or LeSS)
8. Experience working in a cross-teams environment and different cultures. Co-location will be a plus
